WIN SOME/LOSE SOME

le 15 juin 2008

———-

Oh my, look at the time. 15:15 and today is June 15. lolz No more tears!!! ^_^

Yesterday, I went to my beloved UP Diliman and met my good friend Ikle again. We had a lot of fun! We had a “photoshoot” and went back to our old habit of chitchatting for hours while eating fish balls and drinking C2 in the perimeter of Sunken Garden.

Anyway, I have lost my Fendi scarf!!! I LOST MY SCARF!!! It was absentmindedly lying on the top of the paper bag I brought yesterday and it was a bit windy. Maybe it flew onto the world beyond when we were headed to the main library. Oh well. LIFE GOES ON!!!

The “photoshoot” was a blast! There were just the two of us, as usual, and we have to improvise and be very resourceful considering that we just used my 2mp camera phone. Here are some of the images:

It was a good thing that that spot outside the library has the most perfect lighting et al (yeah right, as if I know stuff like these!) but nevertheless we had a lot of fun!!!

Anyway, I really missed being back in the university. And so, I’ve decided to enroll again the following semester. Yep, I’m taking up non-deg units from PolSci because I’m now planning to take up masters next school year!!! Yep! I’ve already decided on this, Master in International Studies.

First, I feel that my mind hasn’t been utilized the way it was very much utilized when I was still in school. I mean, yep, at work, my French is used BUT I want to learn other things aside from the languages I got. Second, I want to increase my marketability lolz. Lastly, my parents were not able to attend any of my graduation, ever! From elementary to secondary to college graduation, NONE! So I’m going to give my last shot and finish grad school. It’s never too late, n’est-ce pas?

Anyway, fine day Sunday and I woke up very late. It’s Father’s Day and a few minutes back whil writing this entry, Kuya and I called Papa and greeted him a Happy Father’s Day!!!

Back to work tomorrow, and somehow, I don’t dread it. Maybe because I love what I’m doing now? Hmmm… maybe, but to be honest, I’m enjoying my stay there.

FINALLY!!! POWERBOOKS AND GRADUATION!!!

le 10 mai 2008

13:56 / Marikina, Philippines

———-

I wasn’t able to blog yesterday and the other day because I was dead tired!

I only worked until 7pm last Thursday because I filed half-day leave for I have to “rest”. The following day was Ate’s graduation and I still have to arrange what Mama’s going to wear. But after leaving the office (it was raining hard!!!), I went to Greenbelt and did my usual routine when I was still working for Yellowasp: loiter in Powerbooks!

Yay! I LOOOOOOOVE Powerbooks!

I read lots of books, but on second thought, I just usually scan the pages and look at the illustrations. One particular book caught my attention:

The Handbag

Believe me, this is the best!!!

I really love how they define handbags:

It is interesting that handbags are correlated on how women rose to power and status, making them the emblem of how they stand in the society. Also, some bags rose to iconic status especially because of the women carrying them, like, CD’s Lady Dior after Princess Diana was seen carrying the black alligator-skin bag:

Lady Dior

And of course, Hermès’ Kelly bag:

Hermes Kelly

Oh well, still I love to have an LV!!! But chances are I won’t be having one before the month ends because of unexpected expenses. Whew! I WANT TO HAVE ONE!!!

Oh well (again), here’s a pic of the LV ads they have in Greenbelt:

Yesterday, it was Ate’s graduation. And believe me, it was very difficult to get up early! We have to be in World Trade Center, Pasay City by 7am!!! That was really crazy!!!

Here’s my sister with the green vintage Gucci bag I bought before:

Here’s Mama with the black Gucci bag I gave her two days ago:

Mama and I:

Kuya and our nephew JB (they have to wait outside because children are not allowed inside the hall):

After the long wait, mother and son reunited:

Then we went to Sta. Clara in Katipunan to say our prayers because, finally, the three of us finished our studies. It’s one important thing we can give to our parents, especially tomorrow is Mother’s Day:

That’s it, I have nothing else to write. Oh, I’m thinking if I’ll renew my gym membership because I have conflicting thoughts in my head. Qu’est-ce que je dois faire?

It’s scorchingly hot here in Manila, but typhoons are now swarming in Mindanao. What the f is wrong with the weather?!

So, everybody, GET UP AND BE ENVIRONMENT-FRIENDLY OKAY!?!?!

I really love this particular bag because I think it’s perfect for Mama.

And to my sister who’s gonna graduate this Friday, congrats my Ate!

HAPPY! SHA-LALA-LA!!!

le 3 mai 2008

———-

We went swimming earlier today!!!

It was very nice seeing my classmates again! And the best part of all is we’re all done with college! Goodbye our beloved UP!!! It was nice learning those languages with you!!!

I went to Club Manila East (is this right?) with Shiela, Khael, Love, Kath and Kara and I was laughing almost the whole day! Though there were moments that they would naturally torment me with questions regarding my recent past but I’m proud to say that I did not even got lonely. Yep, maybe this is a good sign. I’m too happy being with these girls than think of whatever things that can lead me to despair! Hahaha

I don’t have lots of pictures with me because I did not bother, so I guess I’ll be “borrowing” some from my friends in my next posts! Hahaha

I’m so proud of myself as I was able to evade the scorching sun and kudos the the clouds as it rained around 4pm! Yay!

We had dinner in Shakey’s in Sta. Lucia East Grand Mall and I was very hungry!!! (Or we were all hungry!!!) We finished everything served to us as we were dead famished but nevertheless, I had fun sharing stories again with them over dinner.

Thank you so much girls for the day! :D

Anyway, I was finally able to take a picture of the vintage coated canvas Gucci clutch I inherited from Mama (I found out it was a Gucci plus clutch bag):

(Note: the image has been flipped horizontally)

What a long day!

I hate business attire!!!

le 18 avril 2008

02:31 / Marikina, Philippines

———-

For this week, we had no choice but to wear strictly “business” because of this merger (but to be more correct, it’s an acquisition) between Thomson and Reuters (equals THOMSON REUTERS!!!) To cut the crap, it was one hell of a week! I’m not really used to wearing these sort of clothes and the best solution is: preppy!!!

This week was full of argyle sweaters, collared shirts, vests, ties ( I can now tie a Windsor and a half Windsor), dress pants, leather shoes and sweat. Hahaha Anyway, I had fun, really, though it was always a brain-racking experience each evening as I had to think of shit to wear the following day. Lolz

To cap this whole week (or almost a week, as Friday, we’re already allowed to wear jeans), the Day One of that Thomson Reuters was held few hours back in NBC Tent. Too lazy to tell what the hell happened but it was really a nice night. We were full up to the brim. ANd I didn’t care much ’bout the others.

Anyway, here is how I looked like a while ago:
WTF

Tangnang yan. Look at that. Hahaha Bwahahaha And the bag! Just to say that I was carrying Gucci even if it was screaming “I’M FOR GIRLS!!!”. And look at my face, I looked skeletal. But my body isn’t thin at all? I’m getting muscler and muscler each day!!! (Hello. Gym) Eitherway, I really had fun today, Thomson Reuters kicks Bloomberg ass. Hahaha I feel like I’m a billion bucks right now!!!

By the way, I’m watching closely to this new bag I saw somewhere… another Gucci but this time I can definitely use it. Just bidding my time until it was time to pounce. Hahaha

FUCK OFF WORLD!!!

FIERCE PURCHASES!!!

le 14 avril 2008

00:26 / Marikina, Philippines

———-

Oh my!!! Who would have thought that I’ll be able to buy 2 authentic Gucci bags in one day!!!

Here are my new babies:

The vintage one... for Php 800

and

The deadly black one... for Php 550!!!

It was quite a happy day for me!!! I’m really, really, REALLY been reading and searching a lot about authenticating designer handbags over the net and I think I’ve learned enough to go to field work.

Yes, I was able to buy Kenneth Cole Reaction, Nine West and Nina Ricci before but, of course, some sort of prestige is affixed to THE brands.

This is quite a lucky day for us. Right Ikle? :)

I saw this Jean Paul Gaultier drawstring bag earlier (it got chains.. who cares), and finally, something “androgynous” (as most of the things I’ve searched and bought benefit directly my sister as I never used handbags and stuff like that… I just love the thrill of looking and finding THE bags):

Jean-Paul Gaultier... finally, something I can use

The label... thank God for Macro mode. God bless Sony Ericsson

I still haven’t bought the bag because I wanted to authenticate it first over the ladies of TPF (though I think JPGs are not that prone to being replicated and knockoffed, better be safe than sorry… money is still money).

(Fingers crossed… I IMPLORE THAT IT SHOULD STILL BE THERE!!!)

But still, the holy grail for me is to find an authentic LV out there. I mean, yes, there are “LVs” in the stacks but using basic knowledge I’ve acquired from the TPF ladies on how to spot the fakes from the real ones, I was able to determine that, so far, what I’ve seen are knockoffs. And imagine, I was beginning to think that the ones selling them don’t have any idea that what they are selling are designer stuff, but LO AND BEHOLD, those LV knockoffs COST A LOT than you’re average bags in the stacks. Maybe they think that all LVs coming to them are authentic. Oh well. To each his own.
